Group 2

Group 2 elements are called alkaline earth metals and have different chemical reactions with trends going down the group. Group 2 hydroxides become more soluble going down the group whilst Group 2 sulfates become less soluble going down the group. Chemists make use of these properties of real world uses such as using barium sulphates for barium meals in medicine as barium sulphate, as a compound, is insoluble.
